As a journalist, sometimes (okay, a lot of the time) you end up reading an interview that is so good, you wish you had done it yourself.

This interview by Refinery 29’s Amy Flurry with Lera Lynn, an “indie Americana” songstress, is downright awesome. Things that make it so awesome?

1. Not only do you get to learn more about Lynn, you also get mentions of other great bands and artists to check out.

2. You get to take a peek at some of Lynn’s style staples, a girl that describes her style icon as Johnny Cash. (Basically, visuals are good).

3. Things you want to know are actually touched on! And you get gems, like this:

Heels or no heels on stage?
“I’m gonna answer with a question: Booze or no booze? Pick your battles. You can never combine the two in quantity on stage. Only two drinks per inch.”

Don’t take my word for it: Read the interview yourself and let me know what you think.

And check out my fave of Lera Lynn’s: “Happy Ever After.”
